$
Some HVAC problems can DOUBLE your operating costs
without reducing your comfort level.
$ Up to 80% of all
HVAC compressor failures could be eliminated if the problems that
led to the failure were found and eliminated in a timely manner.
$ A “Freon”
(refrigerant) undercharge of only 10% can increase your operating
costs by up to 20% or more.
$ Freon should never
need to be replaced. It has no known shelf life. If it must be added
every year, there is an expensive leak which should be found and
repaired.
$ A dirty evaporator,
condenser and blower wheel could increase electrical usage by 50% or
more.
$ Just a 100th
of an inch of dirt or film on an evaporator coil can reduce
efficiency by as much as 15%.
$ Undetected and
un-repaired small problems often lead to expensive major repairs.
$ PMP inspections can
find and repair dangerous problems.
According to studies conducted by the Louisiana Cooperative
Extension Service and Gulf States Utility Company, you can save
up to $50 a month on your utility bill by making sure your HVAC
system is cleaned and serviced regularly.
The study concluded that proper HVAC maintenance can:

Wikipedia defines “Preventive Maintenance” as: |
|
| |
|
|
| |
"The care and servicing by qualified
personnel for the purpose of maintaining equipment in satisfactory
condition by providing systematic inspection, detection and
correction of incipient failures either before they occur or before
they develop into major defects”.
Preventive Maintenance Plans (PMP) are agreements between you and
B&B HVAC for scheduled inspections and maintenances of
your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
PMPs are generally
scheduled for the spring and fall to maintain peak efficiency, help
keep utility costs as low as possible, extend the life of your HVAC
system, and avoid unexpected equipment failures.
Benefits:
Energy Consumption:
The HVAC system is most likely the single biggest user of energy
in your home. In fact, well over a third of the energy used in the
United States is used to heat and cool buildings. According to the
Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) up to 50% more energy could
be saved with the proper installation, sizing and maintenance of
central HVAC systems.
Savings:
PMPs typically more than pay for themselves through higher
efficiency, lower utility costs, fewer system breakdowns and
discounts on repairs when they do occur.
Peace of Mind:
Proactive maintenance of your equipment will mean fewer
breakdowns and longer life for your HVAC equipment. Every PMP
customer is ensured “PRIORITY SERVICE” if a system failure
were to occur. |
